OpenDocument (ODF)

The OpenDocument format (ODF) is a free and open file format for electronic office documents, such as spreadsheets, charts, presentations and word processing documents. The specification is based on the XML format originally created and implemented by the OpenOffice.org office suite.

<oXygen/> XML Editor is the first tool which offers developers support for editing, transforming and validating documents composing the Open Document format (ODF) package directly through the archive support.

The Archive Browser view

Now you can transform, validate and perform many other operations on files inside an archive. When selecting an URL for a specific operation like transformation or validation you can click the Browse for archive file button to navigate and choose the file from a certain archive.

After an archive is opened in the Archive Browser files from it can be edited in <oXygen/> and then saved back to the archive. You have many useful options to modify the archive structure or extract files from it.

The Archive Browser view presents the structure of the archive allowing for easy navigation, editing and structure modifications.

Editing OpenDocument files

A complete framework is offered in <oXygen/> providing powerful support for editing and validating documents from the OpenDocument format (ODF) zipped package.

Validation is done using the latest Open Office ODF Documents version 1.1 Relax NG Schemas.

Comparing OpenDocument files

With the <oXygen/> Directories Comparison tool you can compare and merge OpenDocument format (ODF) files or other ZIP-based archives seamlessly. The archive files are presented as directories allowing the usual comparison and merge operations inside them.
