What's New in Oxygen Content Fusion

February 22, 2019

The release of Version 1.1 of Oxygen Content Fusion adds various new features and improvements to the innovative collaboration tool for any XML documentation review process. Oxygen Content Fusion has a connector add-on that comes bundled with Oxygen XML Author and Oxygen XML Editor. To fully take advantage of all of the benefits and features, your organization will need an Oxygen Content Fusion Enterprise Server. For more information, see the Content Fusion website.

Some highlights of the new features and improvements in version 1.1 include the ability to restore Content Fusion data from backup, the possibility of upgrading your version of Content Fusion Enterprise, a new feature that allows you to add owners to an existing task, options for customizing term lists for the spell checker or AutoCorrect feature, and much more.

The built-in web-based editor now benefits from an improved design, the Review panel now has a better filtering mechanism and comment threads are rendered so that it is easier to identify groups of comments. Also, when a DITA map is open, you have the ability to choose from several new display modes, including a mode to display the map with all the topic content expanded.

Content Fusion

Restore from Backup

A server administrator now has the ability to restore Content Fusion for a backup using a simple command. For more details, see Back Up Content Fusion Data.

Added Ability to Upgrade

There is now a supported procedure in place to upgrade the Content Fusion Enterprise server to a new version of Content Fusion. For more details, see Upgrading Content Fusion.

Add Custom Term Lists to the Spell Checker

You can create personalized term lists that are used to store specialized terms (learned words) or control forbidden words in the spell checker.

Customize Term List for the AutoCorrect Feature

The Content Fusion built-in visual editor includes an AutoCorrect feature to automatically correct misspelled words as you type. There is a default list of commonly misspelled words and symbols for each supported language, but you can modify the list to suit your specific needs.

Share Ownership of a Task

It is now possible to add additional owners to an existing task so that more than one Content Author can manage the task or merge the changes in Oxygen XML Editor/Author.

Google/GitHub Authentication

The server administrator can enable Google or GitHub authentication so that users have the option to log in with those credentials when signing in to Content Fusion.

Authenticate with LDAP

The LDAP authentication configuration was improved and support was added for Active Directory LDAP authentication. For more details, see the Authentication Tab section in the Content Fusion Enterprise Administration Page topic.

Component Update: Oxygen XML Web Author Version 20.1.1

The web-based editor was updated to use Oxygen XML Web Author version 20.1.1.

Component Update: Ubuntu Version 18.04

The installation kit was updated to run on Ubuntu version 18.04.
