Topic refactoring from task > topic and vice versa
Post here questions and problems related to editing and publishing DITA content.
Topic refactoring from task > topic and vice versa
When refactoring a task topic to concept, the <cmd> element remains, making the topic invalid.
Furthermore, when converting back to a task, the <ol> is not converted to <steps> and <li> not to <step>. Additionally, the "procedure" is wrapped in the <context> element.
I was hoping that this was a known issue, but I can't see anything similar in the forum.

Hello,
Thank you for the feedback! I will add an issue with your observations to see what can be done.
If you are familiar with XSLT, perhaps you can customize the stylesheets yourself. They can be found at [oXygen_dir]\frameworks\dita\refactoring\dita-files-conversion-stylesheets.
One last thing: if you are not satisfied with one conversion, instead of perform another one in the other direction, you can just perform an undo. This way you will get the exact structure you had before the conversion. And instead of directly finishing a conversion, you can always generate a preview to see if everything is alright.

Yes, I am aware of these options. However, this was supposed to be a major feature in the release. Shame.

Hello again,
Sorry for the inconvenience! We have already analyzed the issue and we will try to include a fix in the next maintenance kit (probably 6 weeks from now, or so).

About your requests:
This is a clear situation and we'll work to fix it, I will update the forum thread when it happens. When refactoring a task topic to concept, the <cmd> element remains, making the topic invalid.
Could you post a small sample DITA topic with how the content looks before the conversion and how you would like to look after it?Furthermore, when converting back to a task, the <ol> is not converted to <steps> and <li> not to <step>. Additionally, the "procedure" is wrapped in the <context> element.

Radu
