Webhelp Responsive transform fails
Post by shudson310 »
Downloaded oXygen v18.0 and trying to run the Webhelp Responsive transform.
The transform fails, yet I have verified that those files exist in the temp dir. These files are glossary files in a common dir above the dita map dir. I do have the following params set:
fix.external.refs.com.oxygenxml true
generate.copy.outer 3
outer.control quiet
Description
I/O error reported by XML parser processing file:/C:/temp/oxy_ex-1/common/glossary/gl_FAR.dita: C:\temp\oxy_ex-1\common\glossary\gl_FAR.dita (The system cannot find the file specified) Cause: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\temp\oxy_ex-1\common\glossary\gl_FAR.dita (The system cannot find the file specified)
Severity
Fatal
System ID
C:\Program Files\Oxygen XML Editor 18\frameworks\dita\DITA-OT2.x\xsl\common\dita-utilities.xsl
Scenario
DITA Map WebHelp Responsive
Thanks for your help.

I should note that the ditamap renders just fine to PDF, without any errors. I've also successfully used this with DITA-OT 2.2.4 (to PDF).

Re: Webhelp Responsive transform fails
Hi Scott,
Could you look in the Prefences->DITA page and tell us what DITA OT distribution is used by default? Oxygen 18.0 started using DITA OT 2.x by default while older versions of Oxygen use DITA OT 1.8.
So this might be an issue with DITA OT 2.x. For example does publishing to plain XHTML work with the same params set in the scenario?
If you could come up with a sample project to demonstrate the problem you can send it over and we could try to analyze this on our side.
Regards,
Radu

Hi Radu,
I've tried the default 2.x and the 1.8 toolkits and neither succeed. This is DITA 1.3 content, btw.
I successfully generated xhtml, pdf, chm. I cannot successfully generate any of the webhelp (classic, responsive, etc).
I'll try to create a generic sample for you to test with.
Thanks,

Re: Webhelp Responsive transform fails
Hi,
Just to update this thread, Scott sent us the samples and we'll try to come up with a fix for the situation.
Scott used an abbreviated form with keyref in a shortdescription. The new WebHelp transformations try to use this short description in various parts of the table of contents but the abbreviated form was not properly expanded in this case.
Regards,
Radu
