0:00:04Oxygen XML Editor 28 introduces support for dark
mode themes in web help responsive output. To
0:00:11demonstrate this feature will transform a map into
web help responsive output with dark mode enabled.
0:00:17We already created a custom publishing template.
This is our descriptor file. Notice that the
0:00:25parameter in line 11 web help enable dark mode
is set to yes. This means dark mode support is
0:00:32enabled. The next file is the CSS that contains
variables that define the colors in the various
0:00:38output components. The variables in the first
root container define the colors for the light
0:00:43theme. The next root container defines the colors
for the dark theme. It's very easy to customize
0:00:50your own colors for your dark theme. We'll adjust
the primary background color and save. Then we'll
0:00:58go back to the data mapaps manager and configure
a web help responsive transformation scenario.
0:01:07We'll click choose custom publishing template
to select our template package and we'll apply
0:01:14the transformation scenario. In the output,
notice that there's a theme button in the top
0:01:22right corner. You can choose between auto,
which uses the default browser settings,
0:01:29light or dark. If we compare our output with
output transform using the default dark theme
0:01:35colors, you can see that our output has our
custom background color. Not only is it very
0:01:41easy to switch between modes, but also very
easy to customize the colors in each mode.
