Accessibility Policy

Our Commitment to Accessibility

At Syncro Soft, we believe that great software should be usable by everyone. We are committed to ensuring that our products and services are accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. Accessibility is not just a compliance checkbox for us, but a fundamental aspect of how we design and build quality software.

We recognize that accessible design benefits everyone. When we make our interfaces more navigable for users with visual impairments, we often discover that we have made them clearer and more intuitive for all users. This principle guides our approach to product development and continuous improvement.

Accessibility Standards We Follow

We align our accessibility efforts with internationally recognized standards to ensure our products meet established benchmarks for inclusive design. Our primary reference is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), which represents the global standard for web and software accessibility. This level provides a practical balance between comprehensive accessibility and technical feasibility, and is the standard required by most international accessibility legislation.

For customers in the European Union, we align with EN 301 549, the European standard for ICT accessibility. For customers working with U.S. federal agencies or subject to U.S. accessibility requirements, we address Section 508 compliance. When our products include authoring capabilities that allow users to create content, we also reference the Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG) 2.0 to ensure that users can create accessible content using our tools.

We maintain detailed Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) for our major products. These reports provide specific information about how each product conforms to accessibility standards and are available upon request to customers evaluating our solutions.

How We Implement Accessibility

Accessibility is integrated throughout our product development lifecycle rather than being added as an afterthought. During the planning phase, accessibility requirements are defined alongside functional requirements. Our designers consider aspects such as color contrast, keyboard navigation, and screen reader compatibility from the initial design stages. Our developers receive specialized training in accessible coding practices and use tools that help identify accessibility issues during development.

Our quality assurance process includes dedicated accessibility testing using both automated tools and manual verification. We test our products with assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard-only navigation to ensure they function as intended for users who rely on these tools.

We prioritize several key areas that have significant impact on user experience. Keyboard navigation is essential, so we ensure that all functionality is accessible without requiring a mouse and that focus indicators are clearly visible. Screen reader compatibility is thoroughly tested to ensure that users who cannot see the screen receive accurate information about interface elements and changes. Visual design follows contrast guidelines to support users with low vision or color blindness. We provide text alternatives for non-text content and ensure that navigation is consistent and predictable throughout our applications.

When we incorporate third-party libraries or components, we evaluate their accessibility features as part of our selection criteria. Where third-party components have limitations, we document them clearly and implement workarounds or alternatives when feasible.

Customer Support and Feedback

We understand that accessibility is critical for many of our customers, whether for their own needs or to ensure they can provide equal access to their employees and users. If you encounter accessibility-related issues when using our products, you can contact us at or through our support portal at https://www.oxygenxml.com/technical_support.html. We respond to accessibility inquiries within three business days.

Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve. We actively welcome reports of accessibility issues as well as suggestions for enhancements. Each accessibility-related report is logged in our issue tracking system, reviewed by our product teams, and prioritized based on impact and feasibility. While we may not be able to address every issue immediately, all feedback influences our product roadmap and future development priorities.

Documentation and Resources

We provide comprehensive documentation to help customers understand and utilize the accessibility features of our products. This documentation describes available accessibility features, explains how to configure products for optimal accessibility, identifies compatible assistive technologies, and offers guidance for creating accessible content when using our authoring tools.

Our team members receive ongoing accessibility training appropriate to their roles. Developers learn about semantic code and assistive technology compatibility, designers learn about inclusive design principles, quality assurance teams learn testing methodologies, and documentation writers learn how to create accessible content. This training is updated regularly as standards and best practices evolve.

Understanding Context and Limitations

We want to be transparent about the real-world context in which our products operate. As providers of commercial off-the-shelf software deployed in customer-controlled environments, we acknowledge that the complete accessibility experience depends on multiple factors beyond our direct control.

The accessibility experience can be influenced by the operating system, browser version, specific assistive technology being used, and environmental configuration. A screen reader may behave differently on different platforms, or an older version of assistive technology may not support newer features we have implemented. When customers create content using our products, the accessibility of that content depends on the choices they make during content creation. We provide tools and guidance for creating accessible content, but cannot ensure that all content created will be accessible if customers choose not to follow recommended practices.

Where our products integrate with third-party systems, there may be accessibility considerations that extend beyond our direct control. We document these situations clearly and provide recommendations, but the complete experience may depend on customer integration decisions and third-party system capabilities.

We document all known limitations transparently so that customers can make informed decisions and plan their implementations accordingly.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a destination. We regularly review and update our accessibility practices to remain aligned with evolving industry best practices. We set measurable accessibility goals as part of our product planning process and track our progress against WCAG conformance targets for each major product.

When we release updates, we document accessibility improvements in our release notes. We periodically engage external accessibility experts to conduct audits and provide recommendations, as outside perspectives help us identify areas we might otherwise overlook and bring fresh approaches to challenges.

Governance

We have designated an Accessibility Champion at Compliance Department who coordinates accessibility initiatives across the organization. This individual ensures that accessibility remains a visible priority and that there is coordination between teams. This policy is reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect our current commitments and practices. Product teams report quarterly on accessibility progress, providing visibility into both achievements and challenges.

Available Resources

For customers who need detailed technical information about product accessibility, we maintain several resources. Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) are available upon request and provide comprehensive technical details about conformance for each major product.
