Eclipse plugin: fatal crash

Hello,

there seems to be a bug in the Oxygen XML Editor Eclipse plugin in version 13.2, which causes a condition where I am unable to open any editors until I restart Eclipse. Affected are builds 2012012413 and 2012021614 (as far as I know, since there is always just the latest build available...)

Here are the steps to reproduce:
1. start Eclipse with the Oxygen plugin
2. open up an existing XSD file in Design mode
3. open or display the Attributes view
4. close the XSD editor tab
5. try to reopen the XSD file, you get the exception below:

Hello,

So far we have not been able to reproduce this problem by following your steps. We have tried with Eclipse 3.6.2 and 3.7.1 in Windows Vista and 7.

What distribution and version of Eclipse are you using (Help -> About Eclipse)?
On what platform are you running Eclipse(Windows, Linux, etc)?

Does this reproduce with any XSD?
Try with personal.xsd from the Oxygen Sample XML Project.

Hi,

see the last section "Details of the environment" from my initial post.
The OS is Linux, Eclipse is 3.7.1.

Just tried a completely fresh install of Eclipse and the sample project and personal.xsd file you suggested, and the error is there, all the same as I described above.

As it does not seem to happen on Windows, it looks like a problem with Eclipse on Linux. However, no other Eclipse plugins I use are creating such an error. Also, the latest Oxygen plugin build of version 13.1 does not create the error.

We were able to reproduce the problem on Ubuntu 10, so I can confirm it's a Linux only issue.

I have logged this to our issue tracking tool and it will be analyzed and resolved in the next maintenance build of Oxygen 13.2.

I just wanted to let you know that this problem has been resolved in the latest maintenance build of Oxygen 13.2, 2012030716:

Eclipse/Linux: Closing and reopening an XSD file generated a fatal error: "SWTException: Graphic is disposed".
