Delete Words from dictonary -> Problem with german Umlaute?
Hello,
when I edit my dictionary (Einstellungen -> Editor -> Rechtschreibprüfung -> Wörterbücher) with "Gelernte Wörter löschen" and save the changes, german Umlaute are corrupt. Is there some configuration to avoid the problem?
My workaround is to edit the file in ultra edit.
Thank You in advance

Hi,
Sounds like an old bug in v16 and older.
What version and build of Oxygen are you using (Help > About)?
Regards,
Adrian

Re: Delete Words from dictonary -> Problem with german Umlaute?
Hi,
I'm afraid the bug in question is also present in v17.1. The fix for the old bug addressed only that specific case.
There is a workaround for your problem though, create a file named "custom_oxygenAuthor.vmoptions" (for Editor it's "custom_oxygen.vmoptions") with the line: and copy it to the Oxygen folder. Restart Oxygen and the dictionary should no longer get corrupted.
Note that this changes the default text file encoding to UTF-8. So Oxygen will no longer use the default platform/language encoding.
Regards,
Adrian

Hi,
Just to update this thread, Oxygen 19 which we just released should have this problem fixed by default.

Radu
