Question about automated outputs

Post by imansalehian »

Hello all.

The more I read these forums, the more I realize I am writing as a complete Oxygen novice, so apologies if this question seems completely obvious, but I've recently picked up using Oxygen again and had remembered making frequent use of the automated HTML and PDF output features. As I logged on to Oxygen after a few weeks of not using it, I'm realizing the "apply transformations," button I had previously been using to get a list of options for output isn't working anymore. Can anyone help me identify where I'm going wrong?

Secondly, I had been wondering if there were any way to apply a style-sheet to these automated outputs.

Any advice/orientation is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello,

Please note that for well-known XML document types, like DocBook or DITA, there are predefined transformation scenarios in oXygen. These are available in the scenarios list from menu Document > Transformation > Configure Transformation Scenario(s).

If you use directly the Apply Transformation Scenario(s) action (toolbar button or menu item), the transformation scenario chooser dialog pops up only if you do not already have a scenario associated with the current document. If you have at least one association, the dialog window will not pop-up anymore and oXygen will simply apply the associated transformation scenarios. In case you currently have any association(s) which you did not have in the past, this could explain why do not get the configuration dialog anymore.

It is not very clear what you need to achieve, as you asked for a "way to apply a style-sheet to these automated outputs". I am guessing you might be trying to customize your transformation scenario using a custom stylesheet you have.
This depends on the document type you are trying to transform (DocBook, DITA, etc.) and the type of output you need to end up with, so please provide more details regarding this aspects.
