Compiled CHM file disappears
I decided to try compiling our online help into CHM to see how it looks like. I chose the CHM transformation and it completed successfully: BUILD SUCCESSFUL Total time: 27 seconds The process finished with exit code: 0 Right after that, my browser opens and I see this message: File Not Found Firefox...

Version 21 WebHelp compilation errors
I just installed OxygenXML Author version 21 this morning and tried recompiling my WebHelp (which worked with no problems in version 20). After running into a host of more minor errors that I was able to figure out myself, I am stumped at this transformation error: Transformation failed. /home/clum/...

Re: Where are these related topic links coming from?
Hey Radu. I just discovered a side effect glitch: if my Related Topics links go to both Concepts and Tasks, I end up getting two "Related topics" sections! For example: Related topic: Concept Topic Related topic: Task Topic Is there any way to force it to put both under the same "Rela...

Expand/collapse text
Is there an easy way to hide a block of text so that you can reveal/collapse it by clicking a link? This was easy to do in Flare, but I've gone in circles trying to find out how to do this in OxygenXML.

Searchability of topics in "chunk: to content"
Here is something that has been annoying me for a while. To start off, I create normal parent & child topics, then: Scenario 1 If I do not specify a "chunk" setting, the resulting WebHelp shows the parent/children in the left nav TOC. If I search for a a child topic (using its topic ti...

Re: Phantom "not available to resolve link information"?
Thanks for the info, Radu. I will remove all links from the <shortdesc> element to avoid those messages.
BTW, I don't get tooltips when I hover over the links in the TOC of my WebHelp.

Re: Phantom "not available to resolve link information"?
Hi Radu. I am using OxygenXML Author 20.1 build 2018122403. I don't believe that we are using an external DITA Open Toolkit (I inherited this project; how do I verify?). Does this link work for you? It's the actual link associated with the last message I sent in the old thread: https://www.oxygenxml...

Re: Where are these related topic links coming from?
Thanks Radu. But when I try adding the label "Related topics" using the <desc> tag, it doesn't work. In my WebHelp output, the <desc> string is ignored and now there's no "Related" title showing. Only the links to the related topics are shown. I'd like to try the CSS method, but ...

Phantom "not available to resolve link information"?
When I generate WebHelp, I see many errors like this: The file <filename> is not available to resolve link information. However, I have double-checked the cross reference and it is correct. I am able to click the hyperlink in the topic to trigger the destination file. When I compile my WebHelp, the ...

Re: Where are these related topic links coming from?
On a related note, I see that the relationship tables that were set up uses "Related information" as the header, and that's what shows up in our topics: "Related information". But when I manually add related topics, they usually come up as "Related concepts" (because mo...

Where are these related topic links coming from?
I have this perplexing problem that I've been wracking my brain over, but I can't figure it out. I have started adding related topics links to the end of my topics. I do this by selecting Link icon > Related link to topic . In authoring mode, it shows up as "Related information:" and the u...

Re: Adding list of Figures to PDF
Hey Radu. I discovered the answer shortly after I posted (how do you retract a post awaiting moderation? Is it even possible?)
Turns out you need a figure title for it to show. I added the Title element and it works fine now.

Adding list of Figures to PDF
Hi Radu. I was trying to follow your instructions in this post to add a List of Figures to my PDF: https://www.oxygenxml.com/forum/post25300.html?hilit=list%20of%20figures#p25300 I opened my Book Map file and added "<figurelist/> to the <booklists> section as you directed: <frontmatter> <keydef...

Re: My reusable component element suddenly went awry
I think I've figured it out. The "correct" product name strings are inserted when "Root map = <current map>". The "incorrect" strings are inserted when I set root map to another ditamap. I inherited this project where the previous writer created an "overall" d...

My reusable component element suddenly went awry
This is a tricky one to explain, but I'll do my best. In my project, we have resource files that contain reusable components for things like our company name, product name, etc. Until now, this feature has been rock solid: when I insert the variable from the DITA Reusable Components window, it works...

Re: Annoying UI behavior--is this a bug?
Interesting. I just learned something new! But, if you watch my video clip again, that "Link with Editor" button is not active (unless I'm misinterpreting the depressed/not depressed buttons. You really do need better icons!). The point may be moot though--I just tried my test again, with ...

Annoying UI behavior--is this a bug?
I've run into this very annoying UI "glitch" that sometimes occurs. Here are the steps to reproduce: Open several ditamaps in the DITA Maps Manager. In my test, I opened child (chapter) ditamaps from within my user manual. In one ditamap, open a topic for editing. Close the topic that you ...

Thanks.

Re: My reuse string files are not resolvable outside of the root map
Hi Radu. I'm just going through my old posts and I realized that I never tried your suggestion above. I just did my own workaround of importing the topic I want into a separate small temporary project. Anyhow, I've tried inserting a topicref to the key definitions map as you suggested, but my reuse ...

"uicontrol" renders differently between projects
I just discovered something very puzzling. In our doc set, the previous writers used the "uicontrol" tag to render not just UI controls, but then they started using it as a replacement for the "<b>" tag to bold text. I think it's poor form to do this, but it seemed to work. Now I...

Re: Profiling colors don't show in "resolved topics" view
Thanks, Radu. But when I go to that page and try to edit the document type for my colors, the "Document type" field is uneditable. How do I change "DITA" to "DITA*"?
(And there really should be an easier way to make the colors apply to both dita and ditamap topics.)

Re: <shortdesc> content not displaying within
in PDF
Hi Radu. I'm not sure, I thought I was using the "stock" PDF engine in Oxygen, but there may have been some customizations installed by the previous writer. I'm new to Oxygen and to DITA. How do I check and what should I look for? For what it's worth, I also created a small project with a ...
