Yes, I know about the behavior you are describing and it is quite nice. The one I am suggesting is more natural and saves one key stroke. Why would you type '>' and then '/' when what you need is '/>'? I found this auto insert of '>' after '/' in some other editor (IDEA) and found it very useful. Ma...

autoclose a tag after /
While editing a tag if you are outside an attribute value and if you hit '/' then the tag should be closed. This means that an extra '>' should also be inserted.

add 'unbound' as an option for maxOccurs
When editing a schema file if you add the maxOccurs attribute to an element tag then you are prompted to select predefined values for it. Only "1" shows up as an option and this does not make much sense, this is the default value as well so you really don't need the attribute for that. I w...

Openning multiple files
I use oXygen 4.2 under Windows 2000 and I enabled the "Integrate into Explorer shell" option. If I select multiple files and then right click and select "Open with oXygen" I would expect all of them to be open in one instance of oXygen. Currently only one file will be openned. If...

Hi George, Thanks for following up on this issue. I can see now that it is not trivial to implement this validation. I was trying to read the discussions you pointed at but the server seems to be down, I will keep trying. A few things come to mind: - since every XML document has a signature at the b...

Check document Form: element names starting with 'xml'
When checking if a document is well formed there is one thing that is missed, it is the fact that element names cannot start with 'xml' (in any case): http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-xml#sec-logical-struct This should take into consideration the version of XML since future versions may add some standard ta...

Re: FOP 2.0.4 does not render embedded SVG
I am using FOP 0.20.5 on a daily basis on DocBook generated FO files, no problems at all. There must be something specific about your document...
Anyhow, I can install FOP 0.20.5 as an external FO processor, so I am fine.
Thanks,
Marius

DocBook stylesheet extensions
Please add the DocBook stylesheet extensions to the oXygen lib folder. You should add the version approriate for the version of Xalan and/or Saxon. These extensions (jar files) are in the 'extensions' subfolder of the DocBook stylesheet distribution. You enable extensions with: <xsl:param name="...

FOP 2.0.4 does not render embedded SVG
Hi, oXygen 2.0.4 is bundled with Apache FOP 0.20.4 and it turns out that this version does not support rendering embedded SVG content. If you configure FOP 0.20.5 as an external FO processor then the rendering is done fine. Could you please use FOP 0.20.5 with the next release? Try converting the fo...

Richard, I just briefly tried the RTF generation on a very simple document and then I put it aside for now. I will have to get back to it later on when my application is getting close to completion. I am assuming that you are having problems with the personal edition of the XML Mind FO Converter. Th...

component versions
Hi,
Quite often I am wondering what version is a certain component that comes with oXygen. By component I mean DocBook stylesheets, Xalan, Saxon or FOP.
Is there a place where all this is documented?
I am using oXygen 2.0.4 and I would like to know what version of Xalan is used.
Thanks,
Marius

Support for XInclude
Thanks George, I tried using XInclude in oXygen 2.0.4 as you suggested and it worked fine! A few comments: the property you mention should be set as a JVM system property on the command that starts the JVM one way to set the property is in oxygen.bat by adding -Dorg.apache.xerces.xni.parser.XMLParse...

Support for XInclude
Hi,
I would just like to bring this issue up again, yes, XInclude support would be greate.
Here is some documentation on how XInclude can be used with DocBook:
http://www.sagehill.net/docbookxsl/ModularDoc.html
And an XInclude engine in Java:
http://xincluder.sourceforge.net/
Thanks,
Marius

Cannot add files with same name to project
You cannot add files with the same name but from different folders into the same project. Keep getting the "This file was already added!" message.
I guess this is a bug.
Cheers,
Marius

XSLTC: stylesheet compilation
Since oXygene is all Java and it is using Xalan by default it would be nice to add stylesheet compilation support.
This could speed up transformations that are done often (like DocBook).
See:
http://xml.apache.org/xalan-j/xsltc_usage.html

Thanks for the hint Sean. I downloaded and installed XMLmind FO Converter, the Personal Edition is free, from: http://www.xmlmind.com/foconverter/ The beauty is that you can install it in oXygene as an external FO processor and then you can generate RTF right from oXygene! Apache FOP is also mention...

Re: Viewing XML Documents with Web Brwosers
The "Open in browser" check works, but there is a small issue with it. It always opens IE even though IE is not the default browser on my system.
It should either open the default browser or let you select the browser you want to use.
