performance issues with RTL texts
Post by emmanuelle_k »
Hi,
I am developping frameworks in author mode for scholarly edition in TEI XML. We (me and my colleagues) are experiencing some performance issues with RTL texts in author (with the framework) or text mode, while the LTR files work fine either in text or author mode (with the same framework).
Is there a solution other than separating the RTL files of more than 100ko in two ?
Thank you for your help,
Best wishes
Emmanuelle

Re: performance issues with RTL texts
Hi Emmanuelle,
Indeed the computations needed for RTL text display are higher. It may also depend on your content, if you have large space preserve pieces of content which use <lb/> to split the lines of text. If you want us to investigate further it would be great if you can provide some samples (support@oxygenxml.com). Maybe we can improve a little bit the rendering speed in a future version.
Also please tell me on what operating system you are editing the XML documents and with what version of Oxygen.
Regards,
Radu
