authoring information
Hi
I'm a very new user to Oxygen - i'm learning it to create and maintain a repository of texts online for several different people to access and modify. I've looked through the Oxygen guide and haven't found an answer yet to my question: how do you change the Author information on documents that you edit in the VN client?
Whenever I view the history on a document in my repository, under the author column, it says <Author>. I'm pretty sure this is an easy fix but I can't seem to find the appropriate preferences to change this. How do I change this for my version and for other versions so that you can see a name of who has changed which documents?
Thanks in advance,
Kaylene

Hello,
When a new revision of a file is committed to the SVN repository the author of that revision which you see in the Author column of the table in the History view is the name of the SVN user who executed the commit operation. This user name is one of the names registered with the SVN server, that is one of the users allowed to access the repository. Usually this is the user who created the local working copy by checking out from the SVN repository.
Once a revision is committed to the repository the name of the user who executed the operation is registered in the history of that file and it cannot be changed. It can be only displayed in the Author column of the History view table.
Regards,
Sorin
