Cursor hides behind front file

Post by cefn »

In Mac OS X Tiger, an unmodified installation of Oxygen 8.2 can be responsible for some very bad data loss problems.

When you open a new file by dragging and dropping onto Oxygen, the file opens, but the cursor is in fact invisible in the file tab behind. All keystrokes therefore make invisible changes to the file beneath the top visible tab.

This has already caused a series of data loss issues for me as I was trying to work out what was going on - unresponsive front window - keys doing apparently nothing, but in fact overwriting or deleting stuff in an invisible file.

A workaround involves switching tabs after loading every new file. This causes the front tab to regain focus.

However, often you have deleted a chunk of your file before you realise the cursor is not active.

Hello,

Thank you for your report. We will fix the problem in the next version of oXygen.
