Oxygen has associated itself with .exe files :-(

I upgraded from Oxygen 8.1 to 8.2 in Windows. As soon as I finished installing, I launched oxygen and it immediately tried to open oxygen.exe. Now, every .exe file I try to run gets opened by Oxygen.

I can't do a thing because every app I double click on wants to be opened by Oxygen.

How do I fix this?

I found a fix, but I don't know why it happened.

My EXE extension association in Tools | Folder Options | File Types Tab was missing and when I recreated it, Oxygen was the app set to open it. I restored it and all seems back to normal.

Hello,

oXygen does not change the .exe extension association so it is strange that it was missing. The .exe association is a built-in one so probably other application removed it.
