Format and indent: keep blank lines

Post by Manfred »

Hi,

the format and indent facility in oXygen is very helpful.

I often browse XML files that have many empty lines inserted for increasing the readability.

When I now format and indent such files all blank lines are deleted! Although the indentation is now ok and enhances the readability the missing blank lines decrease the readability (especially for larger XML files).

Therefore I would like to suggest to keep blank lines or to allow such a configuration in an options dialog.

Thanks.

Indenting: xml:space

One thing I seem to recall seeing elsewhere was pretty printing that takes xml:space into account. which is to say that if the value is "preserve" (I think that's the right value) then all the whitespace is preserved. A handy little feature.

Hi Adam,

Oxygen handles xml:space. The other value for xml:space is "default".
