AI Positron for Webauthor in Companys without Google or GitHub Account
Is it planned to make the positron functions in webauthor also available for companys without Google or Github Accounts?
We are using a different toolset and of course, creating accounts is restricted and regulated by it service. So there is unfortunately no option for us to test the new ai features.
Any plans on widening the range in the future?
Best regards,
Fran

Hi Fran,
The AI Positron add-on we make available for people who install the WebAuthor server on their side is an enterprise add-on which lets you configure the LLM server to which it should connect:
https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/ug-positr ... prise.html
So for example if your company has an OpenAI license key they could configure it in the AI Positron Enterprise settings and users will not need to log in separately to AI Positron, it will just work for them.

Radu

Re: AI Positron for Webauthor in Companys without Google or GitHub Account
Hey Radu,
thanks for your quick answer.
The problem is, that we would like to test it before implementing it. And also we need to demonstrate to other departments what is possible before we are allowed to implement it with our LLM Server.
And as far as we can see, your webauthor demo functions with positron currently require a google or github account.
So my question basically is: Is there any way, to test the Position AddOn for webauthor without Google or GithubAccount?
Best reganrds,
Fran

Hi Fran,
My colleague Radu is currently on vacation, so I will be picking up this conversation.
The Google/GitHub account authentication is simply a way for us to ensure fair usage during the trial period, as the trial involves token-related costs on our side.
As an alternative to testing Positron in a Web Author environment, you can also test it in an XML Author environment (our desktop distribution). Positron in XML Author allows you to connect to your own OpenAI, Claude, or other LLM accounts. Starting with your own LLM account can be beneficial, as different models can produce different quality results.
That said, the desktop Positron and the Web Author Positron do differ in some aspects, such as access to the file system, built-in RAG capabilities, but similar enough to help you make an idea about its capabilities.
Best regards,
Alex
