Error when exporting XML to PDF with DITA-OT 4.0: Fonts and images are not fully displayed

Hello everyone,

I am having problems exporting XML documents to PDF using DITA-OT 4.0 and Oxygen XML Editor. Specifically:

The default font of PDF does not display Vietnamese correctly, some characters are replaced or missing.

Embedded images in XML documents sometimes do not appear on PDF, although they are normal in Oxygen XML preview mode.

I have tried changing PDF plugin and font configuration, but it still does not completely fix it.

I want to ask:

Has anyone encountered a similar situation when exporting PDF from DITA XML?

Is there a stable solution to ensure Unicode fonts are fully displayed on PDF exported from DITA-OT 4.x?

How can I ensure all embedded images are rendered correctly without having to edit each image individually?

I use:

Oxygen XML Editor 26.1

DITA-OT 4.0.2

DITA-OT official PDF plugin

First, let me ask a few question to narrow down the problem:

1. Could you please confirm that you’re using DITA-OT 4.0.2? Oxygen 26.1 default Publishing Engine is based on DITA-OT 4.1.2.
2. What kind of images aren't rendered in the PDF output? Classic raster images such as JPG or PNG files or SVG vector files?
3. Have you set the xml:lang attribute in a topic or in the map to indicate you are using Vietnamese?
4. You mentioned you "have tried changing PDF plugin and font configuration", have you read these topics from our user guide?

5. Are you using a custom font, or one installed on your Windows machine?
