Oxygen XML Update Reset My Framework Settings — How to Keep Them?
Post by silverfish »
After updating Oxygen XML, my custom framework and validation settings disappeared. Is there a way to keep these preferences between versions or back them up before updating? Would exporting configurations help?

Re: Oxygen XML Update Reset My Framework Settings — How to Keep Them?
Hi,
I do not know exactly how you customized your framework, maybe it was saved in the global settings instead of a custom folder placed somewhere on your disk or maybe you saved it as a folder in the Oxygen installation folder and you deleted the entire Oxygen installation folder before installing...
When a new Oxygen is installed and starts it should load and preserve all global settings from the previous installation so even if you saved your framework as a global preference it should have been preserved...
In general our advice is to keep custom framework configurations as folders outside of the Oxygen installation folder.
Here's an example of how we recommend extending the default DITA framework to add custom Schematron validation steps:

Hi,
If they were stored in the Global options, please also read this:
