Cannot upload all related files of a ditamap to Content Fusion

Post by longyf_sz »

Hi,
My team is testing the Content Fusion (CF) as a doc review tool candidate.
On Aug 26, I successfully uploaded a DITA BookMap and all the related files to CF.
However, on 10/22, when I uploaded the same DITA Bookmap to CF, only the Bookmap itself was uploaded and all the related files were not uploaded.
Then, I tried uploading a chapter's Ditamap and the same problem occurred.
I use Content Fusion V6.2 and Oxygen XML Author 26.1.
Could you please help check the problem? Thank you!

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.
We would also be interested in what version of the Oxygen Content Fusion Connector you are using: in Oxygen XML Author, click on Help and then click on Manage add-ons. In the opened dialog, look for the version field

Regarding the issue encountered, could you please detail the exact process of creating the task? We would be interested in the specific steps you follow, and if possible, with screenshots

Thank you in advance!

Best,
Cosmin

Hi Cosmin,

Thank you for helping to look into the problem.
The Content Fusion Connector version in my Oxygen XML Author is Version 5.5.0.
The BookMap, the chapter's Ditamap, and their related files are all saved on my local laptop.

I tried the following two methods to upload the BookMap and the chapter's Ditamap:
  • In the Content Fusion Tasks Manager of Oxygen XML Author:
    • Type the new task name in Title.
    • Click Choose and then select the BookMap or the chapter's Ditamap.
    • Select the Also include all files that are referenced within the attached files check box.
    • Click Upload.
  • In the Oxygen Content Fusion server site:
    • Click New Task.
    • Type the new task name in Title.
    • Click the Upload File icon.
    • Select the BookMap or the chapter's Ditamap.
Neither method worked normally. Only the map itself was uploaded to CF. All the related files were not uploaded.

Regards,
Yifei

Hello,

Thank you for the informations provided.
For what you want to achieve, it is recommended to follow the first use case you described, creating the task using Oxygen XML Author through the Content Fusion Task Manager.
Select the Also include all files that are referenced within the attached files check box.
With this option checked, instead of clicking "Upload" if you click "Next", are the referenced files visible in the list?

When you access the task in Content Fusion, after it has been created, the referenced files are not visible in the 'Files' section inside the task, but they can be accessed from the bookmap in read-only mode. Is this also happening for you?

Best,
Cosmin

Hi Cosmin,
Yes, when I click Next, I can see all the referenced files. Then, I click Upload.
You are right, when I access the task in Content Fusion, after it has been created, the referenced files are not visible in the 'Files' section inside the task, but they can be accessed from the bookmap in read-only mode. Reviewers have to click Start editing to edit them or add comments to them.
However, on Aug 26, I was able to see all referenced files in the Files section, and they are not read-only.

Thanks,
