oXygen hangs when using refactoring tool

Hi,

Has anyone seen the dialog below when using the refactoring tool? (All settings are default.)

• The dialog remains open and cannot be cancelled or closed. I used Task Manager to stop oXygen.

• This is occurring in the authoring bridge for a CMS; I have also asked the technical services team to investigate.

Forgot to mention, the version is 21.1.

Oxygen 21.1 is in our end of life stage so officially we no longer support it in any way:

That "Computing layout" stage is a stage in the Author visual editing mode in which the visual layout of the displayed paragraphs is being recomputed. Do you have lots of images referenced in that topic?
How exactly did you refactor it? Can you give me some steps?

Thanks--good to know. I will post the exact XPath expression when I am back to my work computer, but it was a "replace XML fragment" operation, using an attribute to identify the parent element and targeting a second child.

Appreciate the quick response, will relay version info. to my management.

Hi Julia,
If you can consistently reproduce the problem, maybe the next time as a workaround you could try to switch the opened DITA topic to the "Text" editing mode before running the XML refactoring action. I'm curious if you would still encounter the same problem if you would do that.
