Oxygen resets to default

This is a problem experienced by myself and everyone in my team.

Every couple of weeks or so our Oxygen installs get reset to default. All custom settings, preferences, profiling, etc. get wiped out and are reset to default values.
Thankfully, the ability to export and import these settings has saved us but what could be causing it so we could avoid the situation?

Just like most other applications, Oxygen stores its persistent settings in a specific folder in your user home folder:

On Windows the folder is "%APPDATA%/com.oxygenxml".
I suspect that maybe your system admins have somehow configured your computer to delete content from the application data folder from time to time.

Sometimes Oxygen may save settings at project level, for example most preference pages in the Oxygen Preferences dialog have a "Project level" radio button. If you use project level settings and they get removed, maybe the project ".xpr" file is somehow modified externally.
