MS Media Center launching woes

I just got a nice new Sony laptop with a core 2 duo processor to have with me when I am on the road. Unfortunately, Best Buy only had it with Media Center which they informed me is an add on to xp pro which I have on my main box. Anyway, I have no problem launching on xp pro, but with media center it can take more than 20 times before it actually comes up. What usually happens is that the oxygen screen come us, the meter goes to about 2% and then the process dies. Eventually it takes and everything works. Does anyone have any idea what is going on (besides the fact that I was a fool to buy a pc with Media Center on it)?

We can try to find the cause of the delay by generating a log file of the startup process. Contact us to tell you how to enable logging in oXygen.
