Increasing the Available Memory in Oxygen Author
Post by BStreppe2112 »
Good afternoon, IT.
My team is currently working with DITA files that feature a lot of images and there isn't enough memory allocated to view all the images within the topics. We are using Oxygen 21.1, and we followed the instructions listed here to increase available memory:
https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/ ... es_on_wind
However, making changes to the oxygenAuthor21.1.vmoptions file in the installation directory does not reflect in Oxygen.
Thanks in advance

is there anything else that we can try to improve memory? Thanks in advance

Re: Increasing the Available Memory in Oxygen Author
Hello,
oxygenAuthor21.1.vmoptions only has effect if you start Oxygen with the oxygenAuthor21.1.exe launcher.
From the screenshots it appears you have an XDocsOxygenAuthor deployment which probably uses a different launcher to start the app. In that case, if there's a .bat script that is used to start the .app, edit that script and search for the -Xmx argument. Adjust it to your needs.
Regards,
Adrian

Re: Increasing the Available Memory in Oxygen Author
Check if your changes have effect in menu > Help > About, JVM Memory Used/Total (last line).
