View all maps that a topic is referenced in?
Post by bigbikewriter »
Hi everybody! I'd like to be able to view all of the maps where a topic is referenced, but I'm not able to figure out a way to do that. I want to be able to
easily check if a topic that I am updating is used in other maps to avoid impacting other documents unintentionally. I know other software have this capability - in Heretto, you can view them in the Links tab on the topics detail, and in AuthorIt there is a right click "View Relationships" option. I'd greatly appreciate any help figuring out how to do this in Oxygen XML! Thanks!

Hi,
We have a free "DITA References" add-on which can be installed in Oxygen:
https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/ ... addon.html
We also have an included action to find all places from where content is referenced, for example open the topic, right click inside its title and choose "Search References". The same action is available when right clicking a topicref in the DITA Maps Manager view.
Regards,
Radu

Thanks, Radu. Do both of these options only show the references in the context of the current DITA map chosen in the DITA Maps Manager? I was hoping to see all references for the topic regardless of the DITA Map context.Radu wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 7:17 am Hi,

Hi,
Oxygen has in the "Project" view a special "Main Files" folder which can be enabled and then you can add there all your root maps.
After this, all the incoming references for a topic should be computed in the context of all main files.

In Oxygen v25, Main Files also supports the addition of directories as well as individual files. We configured Main Files to include our directory of DITA-OT project files. Now Oxygen considers all source files needed for our deliverables, automatically adapting to the addition or removal of individual book files.
