Submap content duplicated - mapref
I'm using Oxygen 24.1, built-in Oxygen publishing engine (DITA-OT3.x). Although I believe this is not a new problem. I'm the only one on our team I'm aware of who is (was) using <mapref> instead of <topicref format="ditamap">. I have observed that submap content was duplicated in our HTML production with <mapref> while it published normally with <topicref format="ditamap">. My understanding is that they are equivalent, so expected them behave similarly. Seems like some sort of DITA-OT issue. Thanks.

catrachos - both forms should behave identically.
If you are seeing different behavior with the off-the-shelf DITA-OT, please file an issue so it can be fixed.
Thanks!

Re: Submap content duplicated - mapref
Hi,
The <mapref> element should be equivalent to "<topicref format="ditamap">", if it's not then as Chris said above this would look like a bug. It helps in such cases to prepare a very small DITA project exhibiting the problem (we are interested in the structure not in the actual content inside the topics), send it to us (support@oxygenxml.com) and we can take a look. Or as Chris said, file an issue on the DITA OT issues list.
Regards,
Radu
