webhelp output customization

Post by gaurav_maindola »

Hello Everyone!

Can anyone explain the methods to customize the webhelp output in oxygen?
Please provide the methods details from technical as well as non technical detailings.
my oxygen version: 16.1

query 1 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNmXfKWXwO8
I found this link AND I am trying to customize the output but in my version. I do not have any save template option that is mentioned in this Youtube video.

During the output trigger, it only allows me to see 6 built in templates and I can either chose one of the built in templates or click 'create new skin'. If I click on the option, it gets open in the browser and I can make few customization related changes there and then further export that template and a new css file will be saved and now this css file is added while customization.

second, If I directly chose a template while triggering a customization and the output will be created. now with this output, if I want to edit the template again I can't do that.
query 2: whenever i am exporting the template or saving it through browser, it is showing only one css file, while in the above mentioned link, it shows a full zip folder with the .opt file too.

Query 3: Whenever i download a template from browser as i have mentioned earlier, it shows only one css file, the main .opt file isn't there. any remedy there?

Query 4: Do we need to customize the inside files of oxygen for customization related work for webhelp? Inside files like the folder files inside the oxygen folder in the program files on our system. please provide the procedure for that too regarding the webhelp output.

please show your approach regarding the queries only for webhelp template customization..

Regards,
Gaurav

Hi,
Please note that v16.1 of Oxygen has reached its end of life and is no longer maintained or supported:
The customization methods specified to in query 1 are valid for the latest version. The current version is 24.1 and we strongly recommend to upgrade to this latest version.
Regards,
Cosmin
