Navigation tree not displayed when jumping from glossary term

Post by tanja »

Hi all,

I am using a customized version of the WebHelp Responsive scenario in Oxygen XML Editor 24.1 . In my main map, I created a "GIossary" topic head element. Under this element, I reference a submap for my glossary entries. The submap follows the best practices described in this help topic: https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/ ... ssary.html
In the submap, the glossary DITA files are referenced as type "Glossary Reference", with attributes toc and print set to "yes".

When I create my HTML output, the navigation tree on the left side initially looks fine, all my glossary DITA topics are displayed as subtopics of the Glossary entry. But when I go to a content page and click on a glossary link there, the glossary definition page opens without the navigation tree on the left side.

Could you give me a hint how to solve this? I would like to have the navigation tree present in all cases.

Is the topic head element creating the problem? I inserted it because when I reference the submap directly from the main map, all my glossary entries are displayed on the first level in my navigation tree, even when setting "Glossary" as navigation title directly on the submap.

Thanks and Best regards,
Tanja

Hi Tanja,

As you mentioned that:
I am using a customized version of the WebHelp Responsive scenario in Oxygen XML Editor 24.1 .
I suggest, if you are using the default DITA-OT that Oxygen XML Editor comes bundled with and you do not use any custom publishing templates, you should try with the default DITA Map WebHelp Responsive transformation scenario (as-is, without any changes) and see if this occurs anymore.
If you have a custom DITA Open Toolkit, or custom publishing templates, then I suggest you should download and install a fresh copy of Oxygen into a separate folder and try using the default scenario from the clean distribution.

If the issue still occurs, even when using the as-is predefined scenario, to investigate further, we need you to send us a sample DITA Map files hierarchy, in an as minimal for as possible.

Hi Costin,

I just tried the default Web Help scenario, with the same result. The navigation tree is not displayed when jumping from a content topic. My DITA-OT installation is not customized, I am using the one provided out-of-the-box through the Oxygen installation.
I think the next step is to send you a sample map. Could you provide me with an e-mail address?

Thanks and best regards, Tanja

Hi Tanja,

You can submit an issue here:

https://www.oxygenxml.com/techSupport.html

and there is a button to attach your testcase archive file.

I am experiencing the same issue. I tried it on the default DITA Map WebHelp Responsive transformation scenario and got the same result. The breadcrumb and side-toc are missing.

I noticed in the webhelp output, a second file gets created for the same topic with "_2" appended. When I open that html file, it has the breadcrumb and side-toc intact. I'll also submit the issue on your support site.

Thanks,
Alice
