Information window pane view disappeared

Post by whyme »

I was moving a floating information window pane to a second monitor and through a poor drag of my mouse, it went off the screen. I now can't get it back, despite trying different things (removing the second monitor, resizing screen resolution). I completely reinstalled oXygen 20.1 and the info pane was still missing, even in different projects. I opened oXygen 18.1 and again the info pane was missing. On the same computer I tried with a guest account, and the information pane was back.

Unfortunately, there aren't any keyboard shortcuts that I can find to allow me, when the focus is on a floating pane, to resize or move the pane via the keyboard. So my mouse cursor is my only hope in moving the invisible floating pane.

I'm guessing that there must be a way out via one of the files in ~/AppData/Roaming/com.oxygenxml/layouts ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Update: when I switch to the Database perspective, I get the Information view just fine. But when I switch back to Editor perspective it disappears again.

Hi,

You can go to the main menu Window->Reset Layout.

I had successfully floated and dragged Results from a large external monitor to a laptop panel for months. Being able to float and drag Results, especially with 100+ hits, has been very useful.. :D

I just now noticed this behavior with the Results pane, with similar constraints. :(

I noticed the problem after I changed the external monitor to a new, high-DPI monitor. I retained the laptop and continued to use the same Windows Display settings > Extend option.

Dragging an Editor tab to the laptop panel continues to work as I expect -- also very convenient in some situations. :D

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. Can you give me a precise sequence of steps to perform on my side to reproduce the problem in a multi monitor situation?
Also does the Window->"Reset layout" action help?
