Can the validation error message codes be viewed?

Post by leonidfurr »

Hi, I believe the schema error codes reported by the validation engine in the error message (e.g. cvc-complex-type.2.4.a) were removed in v.19.1.
I am using v.20.1. Is there any way for me to be able to view those codes again? I found them useful to pin down exactly what type was being reported and for comparisons against errors reported by a different in-house system I use.

Many thanks

Hello Leo,

Thanks for your feedback.
Unfortunately, the error codes where removed from the validation error message and you cannot view them.
In Oxygen version 23.0 we added back the links to the W3C specification. You can find more details in our documentation:
https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/ ... ation.html

There is an issue on our issue tracker to add back also the error codes. I added your comment on the issue and increased iti priority. Maybe we can add an option that will allow the user to display also the error codes. When the issue will be solved we will update this thread.

Best Regards,
Octavian

Hi, Leo!

I wanted to update this thread and let you know that we released the version 23.1 of Oxygen XML Editor.
And we added an option that allows users to control showing/hiding the validation/transformation error codes, as provided by the engines involved in such processes.
This new option is called 'Include problem ID in description' and it is conveniently placed in the settings drop-down menu of the Results view's toolbar.
Also, these error codes are now always available when invoking the 'Show message' context action from the Results view.

Best Regards,
Teo
