Find/Replace in Files capability with Adobe XML Add-on Documentation
Hi,
I'm using Oxygen XML Author with the Adobe Experience Manager XML Add-on connector for Oxygen XML Author.
Anyone have any ideas on how to successfully perform a find/replace on files in this configuration?
This function works superbly on local files, but any ideas on how to perform this on thw web-based AEM would be appreciated.

Re: Find/Replace in Files capability with Adobe XML Add-on Documentation
Hi,
In the DITA Maps Manager when you right click the root there is a "Find/Replace in Files" action. Using that action is usually how people search when using CMSs with Oxygen if the CMS itself does not offer some equivalent functionality. If that does not work or is not present, this would mean that the AEM plugin has removed its functionality.
Regards,
Radu

Re: Find/Replace in Files capability with Adobe XML Add-on Documentation
Thanks, Radu. I actually found a way to search-replace phrases using Find/Replace in Files for files residing in XML Documentation for Adobe Experience Manager. Solution posted here for any users wondering how to do this:
When using the AEM Connector for Oxygen XML Author Plugin:
1. In Oxygen, in the XML Documentation window, navigate to your ditamap where you need to perform the search-and-replace.
2. Select the ditamap, then right-click and click Check-out with dependents.
Every file in the ditamap is checked out and downloaded to the local folder defined in the AEM connector plug-in settings and are listed in the Files Checked Out in XML Documentation window.
3. From Oxygen XML Author menu, click Find > Find/Replace in Files.
- Type the text to find and any options.
- Clear [unselect] Make backup files with extension.
- Select Current Ditamap Hierarchy.
- In the Filters Include Files field, specify the file types to search and replace.
3. As a test, click Find All to see all files where the search phrase is found
4. To find and replace the phrase, click Replace All, the click Replace All again to begin the process.
Oxygen XML Author does its find/replace magic.
When you are satisfied with the results, check in the files.
5. In the XML Documentation window, navigate to your ditamap and select it.
6. Select the ditamap, then right-click and click Check-in with dependents.
Every file in the ditamap is checked in to AEM and disappear as they are checked in. See the Files Checked Out in XML Documentation window.
