Adjust table cell width automatically

Post by catherine »

Hey,
I have a question related to the PDF output.

When I generate a PDF manual, some contents would bleed out the cell.
For now, I have to manually check all the tables, and adjust the width of some cells, so that the contents would be correctly displayed in the PDF file.

Is there any way I can change the customized css file for PDF file to adjust the table cell width automatically ?

Hello,

Have you tried enabling hyphenation inside tables?

For more details on how to prevent text bleeding out of table cells and how to set automatic table layout, see this section from the User-Guide.

Thanks, Costin.

Actually I tried to enable hyphenation inside tables, but didn't work.
I will check again.

See also the instructions to set automatic table layout from the same page.

In case you still won't manage to fix the bleeding issue, through CSS, then you could send us (on support@oxygenxml.com) a sample DITA Map in a minimal form (with one topic that contains a table with bleeding text), so we could take a look and see if we could find a solution for this.
