What element do I use in a map to accomplish this?

Post by mdslup »

When editing a topic file, I can insert an XREF to another topic file, and point to a specific ID in that topic file...so that when I generate the HTML, the link takes you directly to the anchor on the page.

I want to do the exact same thing, but in the lefthand navigation menu of webhelp responsive. In other words, I want the lefthand navigation menu to have an item that, when clicked, opens (in the righthand content section) a topic file, and automatically scrolls down to the section that has a specific ID. I also want the link in the lefthand navigation menu to have a different name than the topic file that it points to.

What do I put into the map to do this?

Hello,

Unfortunately, using specific IDs in the topics referenced in the publication TOC is not possible.
Therefore, this behavior is not available in the current implementation of WebHelp.

Best Regards,
