Shortcut key to insert a particular element

Post by hymanshu »

Is there a way to create a shortcut key and insert a particular element, say ph?
I am moving from ArborText to Oxygen. In AT, I created custom shortcut keys to insert common elements. How can I do the same in Oxygen?

Hi,

You would have two options:

1) Code templates:

A defined code template can also have a keyboard shortcut.

2) If you are working in the Author visual editing mode, you can extend in the Oxygen Preferences->"Document Type Associations" page the framework configuration for your current used XML vocabulary and in the "Author" tab add a new Author action, action which has a shortcut and which you can later add to the menus, toolbars.

Thanks. Do you have an example of a code template to insert an element (<ph> or <codeph>, or any other element)?
Is there a shortcut key for Paste as Text too? I can't find it.
