Active top_menu

I'm working on the WH Responsive plugin and noticed that my output does not show an active tab. That is, when I select a tab on the top menu, nothing in the CSS inspection indicates that <li class="active"> is present in the code. (I see <li class="has-children">, but not active class)

Is there something that I'm missing with the template to turn this feature on?

I'm not sure I have correctly understood your request.
When a topic is selected it is highlighted in the breadcrumb and the publication TOC. For example, in our documentation if you select Developer Reference > Publishing Templates > Publishing Templates Gallery:

the selected topic looks like this:Highlight - Currently selected topic
The top menu is not activated somehow as you might select a child topic (as in the example specified above) not only the first level topic from main menu.
