CGM Support and FOP

Hi,
I have installed the CGM Image Support Add-on.
In Oxygen Author, The CGM images are displayed but when I try to print the XML document (With FOP), the CGM images are not displayed in the PDF output.
Is there a way to display the CGM images in the PDF output.

Hi David,

Oxygen has no support to display CGM images in the PDF, you probably need some kind of convertor from CGM to some vectorial SVG format supported in a PDF.
We do have users using Oxygen with DITA and CGM images but I'm not sure how they handle the publishing, they probably had the publishing pipelines separately configured.
Maybe you could register on the DITA Users List and ask around, it's a large community of DITA users and they may be able to name specific tools they use to port the CGM to PDF:

Hi David,

There are two JAR libraries called "jcgm-image-0.1.1.jar" and "jcgm-core-0.2.0.jar" which can be downloaded from: "https://sourceforge.net/projects/jcgm/"
After this, edit your DITA OT transformation scenario and in the Advanced tab, click the Libraries button and add there references to the two JAR libraries.

I do not guarantee that this open source project renders CGM's 100% accurate so you should probably check every image in the PDF before delivering it to the customers.
