indentation corrupt after deleting units

Post by Avicenna »

When we delete small units (which span over about 10 to 20 lines) in our files (which are clean, i.e. after pretty print), after about 15 deletions the intents of our tags are suddenly corrupted throughout the file, so that the tags appear about three tabs to the right oft he original position. You can undo the false intendation, but after that, the problem occurs with every deletion. So it is not possible for us to work in those fildes anymore.
If we delete bigger units, the problem occurs instantly.
Our problem occured just recently (in the past years we had no indent problems). Currently we use the latest version oft he oxygen-editor, but the problem also occurred in the former version.

Hi,

Are you editing content in the Text editing mode or in the Author visual editing mode?
In the Oxygen Preferences->"Editor / Format" page there is a "Detect indent on open" checkbox. Is it checked on your side? If you uncheck it and then set the indent to a fixed value (the default is 4 but you can lowed it to 2) can you still reproduce the problem?

Also there is a checkbox in the same preferences page called "Indent with tabs". By default it should be disabled. Is it disabled on your side?

Regards,
Radu
