Berkley DBXML multiple database instances

I'm using a java application accessing a BERKLEY XML DB.

as I try to reuse the same environment for multiple instances i get refused by the database. And the database locks up.

Can only one environment be used at one time ?
how can I access the DB using perl and Java and multiple java instances at the same time ....

This is off topic here, this forum is for requesting new features to be implemented in oXygen XML Editor - and the forums on this website are in general for oXygen related questions. Thus there are very little chances to get a useful response to your request here, you may want to post your request on a BERKLEY XML DB support channel.
