grouped values in attributes allowed?

Post by idtp »

Hi,

I tried to use group values in attributes: otherprops="personen(2 3 4 5 6 7 8)". According to the DITA 1.3 spec this should be valid - but it looks like it's not being supported. Or am I doing it wrong?

spec: 2.4.3.1 Conditional processing values and groups

Thanks,
Radu

Hi Wim,

Could you tell us how you would like this support implemented in Oxygen?
Oxygen does not (yet) have special support for grouped attribute values. By special support I would mean the possibility to meaningfully edit these values when using the "Edit Profiling Attributes" action.
But the DITA OT publishing engine should be able to filter published content based on the appropriate DITAVAL filters.

Hi Radu,

For this example, I'd like @otherprops="personen(2 3 4 5 6 7 8)" to be treated as @personen="2 3 4 5 6 7 8" .

As described in 2.5.4.4 Attribute generalization.

Hi Wim,

So:
For this example, I'd like @otherprops="personen(2 3 4 5 6 7 9)" to be treated as @personen="2 3 4 5 6 7 9" .
As I said before, the publishing part should work like this.
Which leaves the editing part, for the editing part we plan to add special editing support for such values in the "Edit Profiling Attributes" dialog.
If you see another editing aspect which should be improved please tell me.
Creating profiling condition sets which refer to DITAVAL filter files and applying them in the editor to see what's filtered out and what's not should already work.
