Support for other unicode characters?

Hi,
Can I extend Oxygen XML Author functionality to add to the characters available via Insert From character Map... to include others such as

U+1F880

?
I need a left heavy arrow.

Hi Ann,

The "Character Map" dialog has a "Font" combo box on top. It only displays characters that that specific font can render.
So you may need to find a font there which supports the character. But once the character is inserted and you publish to HTML or PDF you may find out that the font used in the HTML or PDF output has the same problem, that it cannot represent the character and needs to be changed to something else.
Sometimes in such cases it's better to insert an image reference to an image showing an arrow than using a character which is not supported by most fonts.
