Eclipse plugin looses color coding for XML files

Post by hepabolu »

Hi,

I'm running Eclipse 3.1.1 on Mac OSX 10.4.3 with only the Oxygen Eclipse plugin 6.2.5 added. Although it does work ok, all XML files with an extension other .xml loose the color coding.
I can switch it on by selecting "reset options" in the preferences, but as soon as I start editing, the color is gone again.

I've tried updating everything, but the problem remains.

I run an earlier version of Eclipse and an earlier version of the oxygen plugin on another OSX machine and there color coding works fine.

Color coding in the standalone editor (6.2) also works fine.

I suppose the problem is in Eclipse somewhere, but I don't have a clue how to solve it.

Please help.

Thanks.

Hello,

If the XML files have other extension than .xml you have to associate that extension with the Oxygen XML Editor.

Thanks, that helped, but I can't remember that I had to do step 2 in previous versions.

Hi,

The content types were added in Eclipse 3.1 I think.

Best Regards,
