Eclipse plug-in
Post by ihandler »
I just downloaded the new plugin, imported it into eclipse (selecting all possible resources just to be sure) and I can not use it. If I go to edit an xml file, I just get IE up. Neither the text editor or the default editor (the same actually) are oxygen.
How do I use the oxygen plug-in? I can find no instructions. I am new to eclipse, I primarily use it as a java ide.
Thanks -- Ivan

Dear Ivan,
Please follow the following simple steps:
- get the eclipse plugin archive (I suppose you already have it)
- extract it in the eclipse/plugins folder
- get an oXygen license (you can request a trial license from the registration page for instance)
- copy the license.zip file in the oxygen plugin folder - eclipse/plugins/com.oxygenxml.editor_2.0.3 - there you can find also a file called put-license-file-here.txt that marks the directory where the license.zip file should be placed.
- start eclipse
If oXygen is not set as the default editor for xml, xsl, dtd, xsd, rng files then it should appear in the "Open with" options on the contextual menu over a file resource. Also you can use the "Window/Preferences - Workbench/File Associations" to associate some extensions with oXygen editors.
Best Regards,
George
