Search Does not Return Results

Post by dgallo »

We are using Oxygen 18.1 Responsive Webhelp, and have noticed the search is not returning proper results.

For example, we have a topic called linsolve. The term "linsolve" is used in the title and is mentioned throughout the topic. When you search for Linsolve, you get 0 results. We have also noticed this with several other topics.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? This is a very critical issue.

Thanks,
Danielle

Hi,

Yes, the WebHelp search function is critical for us.

It would be easier to fix your problem if we have a sample to reproduce it.

So, could you send us a small DITA Map sample together with referenced topics to reproduce your problem at support@oxygenxml.com?

I am sorry, but I cannot as our maps contain confidential information. Is there an alternative to troubleshooting?

From what I can tell, the search appears to no produce results for words it feels are not real, for instance norm, linsolve, pinv, conv.

It works for words like func or norm.

Hi,

Another solution to investigate your problem is to send us the folder where WebHelp Search index is stored. This folder contains an index with all words from your publication and the relative paths to topics that contain them.

The location of this folder is:

Code: Select all

{webhelp-output}\oxygen-webhelp\search
So, if the information contained in the above folder is not confidential, please send us an archive with its content at support@oxygenxml.com
