Replace with suggestions configurable?

Post by Miriam »

My team is trying to use a custom terms list for company-specific terms and style preferences. We created a .tdi file added it to the Dictionaries preferences. Spell check now recognizes those words and does not flag them as errors.

However, we also want the Replace With suggestions to draw from the custom terms list. Using "defragmenter" as an example, our style guide calls for this to be a closed word with no hyphenation. If I test "de-fragmenter," I get an error but when I run spell check, but my Replace with: suggestion is "de-fragmented" instead of "defragmenter" and my Guess: suggestions also don't include it.

I looked at Autocorrect options to see if using the Autocorrect table would be a possibility instead, but it looks like the Autocorrect table only has the option of correcting as I type. My team is strongly opposed to this. They want to manually accept or reject the suggestion.

Hello,

Thank you for the feedback you have provided.

Indeed, the custom terms lists are currently not considered for suggestions.
However, we are already aware of this and we even have an improvement request logged in our internal issues/improvements tracking system.

Given the above, I have just added your vote for implementing this feature and logged your feedback.
The development team will analyze this for a possible implementation in a future version of oXygen.

Hi,

Oxygen 18.1 which we released a couple of weeks ago should have a fix for this.
