Topic References outside the main DITA Map folder

Post by ann.jensen »

Hi,
I am new to and trying to create a demo project using DITA Learning and Training specialization.
The reason I want to try this is to see if we can reuse DITA content already that I have already created for system documentation.
My System Documentation project is sitting alongside my (new) Learning project on my machine.
My LearningContent.dita file in my Learning project is referencing a topic in my System Documentation project...therefore having to go up to a level outside of the Learning project.
this all validates fine but when I transform to WebHelp, the links are not navigating to the correctly generated output folders and so the HTML files cannot be found e.g. webhelp output path is

Code: Select all

C:/DevBranches/DocService_devel/Learning/out/webhelp/index.html#LearningFiles/learningPlan.html#plan_bqx_v34_hx
but from the transform, the actual files were generated to

Code: Select all

C:\DevBranches\DocService_devel\Learning\out\webhelp\Learning\LearningFiles
Is this related to the known issue Topic References outside the main DITA Map folder
and if so who can I go about reusing existing content from one DITA project (system documentation ) within another DITA project (Learning content)?
Any advice appreciated,
Regards,
Ann

Hi Ann,

Yes, this is the same problem as the one for which we gave the two workarounds here:

https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/ ... -refs.html

I do not have other ideas how you could bypass this problem.
