Default appearance of tags in Author mode is too intrusive

Hi Radu,

An observation from a newbie Oxygen user with experience in other XML editors: I find the default appearance of tags in Author mode too intrusive. The tags are too visually similar to the content.

I have customized the appearance in Options ► Preferences ► Editor ► Edit modes ► Author ► Tags:

• Tags foreground color: (R:102, G:102: B:102), a mid-dark gray
• Tags font: Arial 11 pt

I'm not promoting these as the optimal settings, but they achieve what I wanted: for the tags to be visible but "dimmed", and more distinct from the content, so that I can read the content with less effort.

I know that users can, as I have, customize these settings. If you, the Oxygen developer, change these defaults, you might well get howls of protest from users who are perfectly happy with them. But I thought it was worth noting that, as a newbie user, changing the appearance of tags (like adding keyboard shortcuts for various Document ► Select options) was something I felt I needed to do out-of-the-box, as soon as I started using Oxygen. Then again, I'm just one user; it's entirely up to you to consider and weigh this feedback on its merits.

Hi Graham,

I understand, you want the full tags mode to show the tags a little bit faded out.
I tried your custom colors, indeed it's an interesting approach, as they are faded out to gray I do not "see" the tags until I focus on looking for them.
I will add an issue for this, indeed we are reluctant to change defaults for settings which may affect a large number of users but maybe if we have feedback from other users interested in this we may consider it.

That's a good idea, thanks. With apologies if I've missed the guidelines; I'm a little fuzzy on whether to post here or to the list. As you suggest, the list is a better option for canvassing feedback from other users.
