[18.0] Editor isn't showing SVG with grayscle image anymore

Post by nanotec »

Hi all,
we switched to the version 18.0 of oXygen recently and discovered a strange behaviour with our images:

We are using SVG images consisting of a background image (normally a png) and text laid over it. Some background pngs are set to "grayscale" mode. In version 18.0 the editor isn't able to display the background image anymore. The text is shown, however. I'm pretty sure, this worked with previous versions of oXygen. If you set the background image to "RGB" mode, the editor is able to show the image and the text of the svg file.

Best regards,
Bernhard

Hi Bernhard,

In Oxygen 18.0 we updated the used SVG rendering library (Batik) to version 1.8 so this is probably the cause for the change in behavior.
We made a recent fix related to a very similar problem (8-bit image PNG color space). The fix released on May 27 2016 should be included in the latest Oxygen kits available for download on our web site.
So if you are using an older Oxygen 18.0 installation please try to download and use the one on the web site.
If the problem persists please send us an email with a sample image and we'll try to fix that problem as well.

Radu
