How to un-join table cells?
Once you have joined some cells, either row or column, there seems to be no straightforward way of un-joining them again, short of editing the XML.
Am I missing something in some menu, or does that function not exist?
best regards, Dan

Re: How to un-join table cells?
Hi Dan,
If you are editing a vocabulary for which Oxygen provides bundled table editing support, you can right click inside a cell, choose one of the Table->Split cell..... The DITA toolbar also contains a drop down Table Join/Split with the same actions.
Regards,
Radu

Re: How to un-join table cells?
Although - some feedback here regarding usability - this is still laborious when you have many cells to join.
If there were just a "join" button which joined all the currently selected cells, that would be better.
I have an earlier post also regarding select / copy / paste of cell ranges, this is the same kind of thing.

Re: How to un-join table cells?
Hi,
Just to update this thread, Oxygen 18 contains improvements regarding table operations, including a new Join operation that allows you to join all the selected cells in a single step.
Other table-related improvements are:
- you can split a cell on multiple rows and columns
- when editing inside tables, the table-related actions are promoted in the contextual menu
- multiple selection of rows is now supported so you can easily copy/paste content from one table to another
- various CALS and HTML table layout problems are reported using a special table validation engine
Best Regards,
Mihaela
