Problem with 'smart paste'
Post by jonathangudgion »
I've recently migrated an existing framework from version 14.2 to version 17.1 and the only thing I can't get to work is pasting in text from Word in Author mode
I have a class which extends AuthorExternalObjectInsertionHandler to return the name of the stylesheet
When I try to paste anything from Word (2013) into the document I just get an empty dialog box with the title of 'Error' and an ok button
Have tried running oxygen author from the oxygenauthor.bat file but no further information is logged
Am using oxygen-sdk-17.1.0.4 and XML Author 17.1, build 2016020417
Annoyingly pasting in text from Word works in dita / docbook / xhtml etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,
That dialog would suggest an exception which is being thrown behind the scene. Can you send us the framework as well as a small sample file (XML+Word) sor us to reproduce the issue too? I don't have any recollections of any dialogs that match your description happening inside Oxygen before. Can you please have a another look at your extension code and see if by any chance this dialog is presented from somewhere in there? I will also send you instructions on how to activate a deeper level of logging and perhaps we will see an exception there. But, again, if this exception is in the extension code we might not see anything in the log.
Best regards,
Alex
