Track changes don't show in PDF
Hi,
I need to produce a PDF that shows the tracked changes in my DITA file (deleted text shown in color with cross-through; inserted text shown in color). Is this possible with Oxygen 16? Or Oxygen 17?
thanks,
Cathy R

Re: Track changes don't show in PDF
Dear Cathy,
We do not have this possibility for the default DITA PDF output. If we manage to add this feature in a future version we'll update this thread.
In the meantime there would be two possibilities:
1) Open the main DITA Map in the DITA Maps Manager view and use the "Open map in editor with resolved topics" toolbar button to open the DITA Map in the main editor with all topics expanded. After the map opens in the main editing area, there is a "Styles" drop-down toolbar button in which you can select "Print Ready". Then you can use the "File->Print" action and print to a PDF printer driver (like Win2PDF for example) which you have previously installed.
2) If you use the "Configure Transformation Scenarios" toolbar button in the DITA Maps Manager view, there is a predefined transformation scenario called DITA Map PDF - WYSIWYG - Experimental. This scenario can produce PDF with comments and change tracking but it needs either the commercial Prince XML or Antenna House processors installed. If you duplicate this scenario, in the "Parameters" list there is a css.processor.type parameter and two parameters like css.processor.path.prince which could be set to the installation folder for either of the processors.
Both these choices will not produce the PDF looking exactly like the one produced by the standard PDF transformation but this might be enough for a reviewer to work with.
Regards,
Radu

Re: Track changes don't show in PDF
Hi,
Starting with Oxygen 18.1 which we released a couple of weeks ago, Oxygen change tracking information will also be visible in the WebHelp and classic PDF outputs by enabling the show.changes.and.comments parameter.
